iBeam is iBurst Africa’s serious dedicated Internet access offering. It has been specifically designed for the corporate customer requiring a reliable and dedicated Internet connection at a fixed monthly rate.
The iBeam product is built on the iBlink modem and offers dedicated Internet connectivity at speeds of up to 2Mb/s downstream and 690kb/s upstream. Capacity is specifically reserved for each iBeam customer on the iBurst Africa base-stations.
We make use of QoS across our entire distribution network.
In addition, traffic for iBeam customers is carried over a different Internet uplink to iBurst Africa's retail customers. All of these measures and design decisions ensure the network infrastructure delivers reliable, consistent, business-grade Internet connectivity.
You are able to have your entire network permanently connected to the Internet, enabling all users to make use of Internet services such as email and the web.
The iBeam product also includes six permanent IP addresses from iBurst Africa's netblock.
iBeam is a pre-paid product that is billed monthly and paid in advance. There is a once-off set up fee which includes installation.

Should the traffic exceed the quota (`cap'), the system will disable your Internet link until the first day of the next month. In the event of reaching your cap before the end of the month, you may upgrade your package to a larger one at any time. Downgrades to smaller packages are only permitted after a period of three months on any given package. The downgrade will be based on the average usage over the three month period.
Should you upgrade to a larger package during the course of a month, as a result of being capped, the fee for the larger package is payable up-front before re-activation takes place. However, traffic for the remaining days of the month during which the upgrade took place will be included in the price of the new package which means that you effectively receive the remainder of the "capped" month's traffic for free.
Traffic which is not used during a month does not carry over to the next month.
Installation is subject to a site inspection by our technical team.
